I think it mostly depends from what direction you're coming from. Drupal starts life on you're web server as a web page. Diem starts life on you're web server through the command line. Diem, unabashedly, appeals to hardcore programmers who need to get a site up quickly. Drupal, while still more appealing to developers than an out-of-the-box CMS, still assumes that you are not a programmer per se, but if you are, gives you some power. Unfortunately, the code behind Drupal (and this might be different in version 7), is not something that I, as a programmer, am proud to use. It doesn't fit my "style". Diem does, and it is also doesn't hide the power of the the Symfony framework from you, if you really need to get "down and dirty".

Hey Avi,

Personally, I've become a fan of Drupal, and have so far been using it on every project since I've picked it up. I had previously used Wordpress, and tried Joomla. (I even use Umbraco on occasion with CF projects, though I don't like it at all.)

I just checked out the Diem website, though, was not impressed. I tried to check out a tour, and it eventually led me down a jargon-heavy path of confusion... And the top-rated showcase sites did not look very impressive, either.

I'll give it another go when I'm less tired.
